Of Parking Garages and Job Searches

I must say, I really like the title that I thought up for this post. Now comes the time to enlighten the reason behind the title. (The parking garage section relates to my frustrations in trying to find a parking spot yesterday.)

Of Parking Garages:
This school really needs a parking garage. When I first started attending Everett Community College it was September 2004. At the time they had lots of parking. Whitehorse Hall hadn't even begun being constructed, and nobody had even heard of Gray Wolf Hall.
Then beginning July 2005, construction was started on Whitehorse Hall. We ended up losing half of the parking lot on the lower have of the school, or the north half of the eastern parking lot. We did gain some parking at the bottom of the hill. Tyee Lanes, a local bowling alley, closed down, and was turned into a parking lot. But the school already had some parking spots at the east end of the bowling alley, so it wasn't an equal gain in relationship to what we lost. Plus, we gained more students, so that gain negated the parking gain.
Just this past fall, October 2007, we, the students, have lost even more parking. Construction was started for Gray Wolf Hall in October. We lost about a quarter of the parking in the upper level, west end parking lots. Gray Wolf Hall is scheduled for completion sometime in 2009.
The next building/construction project is the expansion of the Early Learning Center. It sounds like the last big construction project will be the one they should have done first, the parking garage! As far as I am concerned, it would have made the most sense to construct the parking garage first. That way it wouldn't have mattered quite as much that we would lose a lot of the upper level parking. And I wouldn't have been forced to drive around for 45 minutes, wasting my precious gasoline because I'm doing between 5 and 10 mph driving in 1st or 2nd gear, trying to find a damn parking spot.

Job Searches:
I'm currently looking for a better job. I enjoy my job, to a point. I like the people I work with, and the fact that I'm starting to get around 25 hours a week. Unfortunately, making minimum wage just is not cutting it. I've been making enough money to make my monthly car payment, pay my credit card bill, make my tithe checks, and pay for my car insurance, but I've been losing about $100 a month from my savings account in order to do all of that. I haven't even been able to touch paying my mom back for gas, my cell phone, or my rims. I owe her for gas and phone dating back to April or May 2007. I'd like a job that makes at least $9 an hour, and has at least 20-25 hours a week. I've started sending my resume out, and filling out a couple of applications. Wish me luck.

First post, for this account.

Just discovered that someone else has my same name. At least I have figured out how to post things using the font that I always use.

This is my second blog account. I have one on Xanga.com. I don't really count the MySpace one, since I just about never post on there. I can sort of post these on Facebook, too. I just never do. I started this for my English class.
